Black Soba Seiro Plate

Description

This raised platform (or “seiro”) is typically used for serving cold buckwheat soba noodles. A small cup (or “choko”) accompanies this plate so the noodles can be dipped into the dipping sauce (or “tsuyu”). This seiro can also be used for cold udon noodles. Use the slot on the side to serve the choko (anything less than 3 1/2″ dia) and garnishes such as scallion, nori seaweed and wasabi can be placed on the square section (or on a small square dish).
